First Time

All of us have a first time... a first step, a first tooth, a first kiss, a first love, a first born, or in my case today... my first blog. I am a talker, not a writer, so this experience might be a little challenging for me. When I say I'm a talker, I'm not exaggerating.... I'm a quarter Italian, so I also use my hands when I talk. I remember when I lived in L.A. and I'd go out with a group of friends to dinner... they'd move their glasses away from me just so I wouldn't spill them. There are a few challenges I have when I write: First, my thoughts are quicker then my fingers. Second, I speak spanish as well, so sometimes a word may come in one language and not in the other. Third, I have horrible spelling and writing techniques and I never proof read. So.... why am I writing? For starters, I'm always posting things on Facebook, specially about my kids or food I've cooked. One of my friends, Catalina R, said I should just start a blog. I thought that was silly...but then after giving it some thought I'd figure I could vent in this manner much better and not bore all my friends/acquaintances on the social network.
Now where to start? How about with the name of the blog Cake Mami. Ca is for Carlos, my husband. Ke for myself, Kendra. Ma for Mateo and Mi for Mila, our children. This was the way we would sign the birthday cards we'd give to our family members. So, since this blog will mostly include things that have to do with our little family, I thought it appropriate.
I'm looking forward to this blogging experience. I hope I can express my self through typing as well as I do with my speech. Hope I can create an image, an emotion, a reaction. Hope I get to hear from those who read it. Let the blogging journey begin.
